“The only way to control your own destiny is to own your own store,” says Richard Vadnais. After 18 years in the RTO business he decided to take the plunge and will be opening his own Premier Rental-Purchase store in Syracuse, NY in September. “I've been thinking about this for many years, like others in the business. I've found that the corporate structure is not for me. There are too many limits now.” Richard speaks from experience having worked for some big RTO names.
Richard's main goal is provide great service to his customers. “Give people what they want – excellent customer service and a line-up products that meets their needs. I don't want to have to tell people they can't get what they want. That is no way to grow a business. You've got to make people happy or they'll go somewhere else. A corporate structure dragged all of that down.”
Richard found that Premier offered the flexibility he was looking for with the support he needed to get underway with his store. “What attracted me was the name Trooper Earle – a household name in RTO. I knew of Trooper by being in the industry, and I knew of his good reputation. I talked to a lot of people who knew of him too and heard all good things. It's Trooper's vision, fairness and flexibility that helped me make my decision to go out on my own and to go with Premier. He is a good leader in the industry and I wanted to be part of his organization.
As Richard counts down to his grand opening, he is determined his customers will feel like they are part of his company family. It is important that when they walk out of his store that they have a smile on their face as big as the one on his when he walks in. For Richard, that's the only way to do it right.
