Congratulations to Jim Forker on his first store opening in Benton Harbor, MI
“After being in the RTO business for 24 years, it was time to venture out on my own and secure a future that I could control, not leave to someone else,” says Jim Forker who will open his Premier Rental-Purchase store in Benton Harbor, Mich. in September. But it was a two-year decision that proved harder to make than implement. “I saw an ad in APRO magazine in 2003 for Premier and I called and inquired. I was impressed by Trooper. He seemed very supportive. He didn't push. He wanted to make sure it was my decision, not his.” But Jim wasn't quite ready. He discussed his idea with friend Mike Lewis who was then working for the same RTO firm as Jim. Mike was so intrigued he went ahead and opened a Premier store himself within a year based on Jim's recommendation. "Mike has been very successful with his store, and he has been a huge help to me,” says Jim. Inspired by this success story, Jim decided he would take the plunge and pursue his dream of owning his own business. For him the biggest stumbling block was putting together a business plan. “It was something I had never done.” But Premier helped him through that and Jim found the rest of the process “very easy going, with everything laid out in steps.” September is quickly approaching as is the beginning of Jim's dream. He's never been as ready to “make my millions instead of making millions for other people.” He is also excited to provide “exceptional service with that personal touch.”
